We invite contributions which address animal related research papers, scientific studies or articles. Contributions can also include animal training or behavior cases. Papers can be related to ethology, behavior, wildlife, fisheries, human animal bond and other animal sciences & welfare. You are welcome to submit yours for review. If approved, it will be listed in the next available issue.

STOP HUNTING OUR WHALES As Japan sends its whaling fleet into the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary this summer, Australians in communities from coast to coast are demanding Government action to prevent the slaughter.
The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) and our patron Tim Winton supported the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s (IFAW) recent protest in Albany, Western Australia, to focus public attention on the unlawful whale hunt, which will include the slaughter of humpback whales from our waters. Is the Polar Bear Endangered, or Just Conveniently Charismatic? Environmental groups are intensely aware of the power charismatic species have to both capture the imagination of the public and serve as levers to emplace environmental restrictions and regulations. Polar bears are the latest example of the phenomenon. Environmental groups have called for their listing as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act, and in late April, a federal judge ordered the Bush administration to make a final listing decision for the polar bear by May 15, 2008.
